Who are we?
The -De la Lola adventure began practically by chance.
We have always been a family of farmers rooted in the valley of the river Corb, located halfway between the Catalan Pre-Coastal Mountains and the steppes of the Urgell region (Lleida). My father, Joan Batista Serret Dalmases, was the last of a dynasty of farmers who squeezed the dust out of an ungrateful land in order to survive. That is why, in 2021, we decided to take over the small family farm.
As for me, I am an engineer and I have dedicated myself to the world of technology as an entrepreneur. In fact, being a farmer is rather far away from me. I can say that my story is rather vulgar: I was the typical "boy who studies and leaves". What makes me different from the others is that the "boy" decided to come back 35 years later.
When I started to set up the farm, I wanted to continue with the extensive agricultural methods that had always existed, the ones I remembered from my childhood. I had never even considered the impact of the use of chemicals and many other agricultural practices that are taken for granted. However, as I researched, questions arose and, as we all know, every question needs an answer.
When I started the project, I discovered a myriad of realities that 99% of the population is unaware of. Among them, the atrocious level of bureaucracy required for an activity as lacking as traditional agriculture, or the fact that modern crops, also known as "post-green revolution" varieties, force farmers to use pesticides and fertilisers to obtain more productive harvests. I also learnt that, unfortunately, the latter are still not profitable, as costs end up soaring.
In fact, logistics and distribution chains exert abusive pressure on producers' purchase prices and increase the final cost of products. For all these reasons, we unconsciously mistreat the community that feeds us.
On the one hand, intensive agriculture in its current form allows us to eat cheaply, but has a long-term impact on our health. On the other hand, ecological farming is unaffordable for a large part of the population, and the amount of food it produces is insufficient for a planet with 8.5 billion inhabitants.
With the idea of breaking this vicious circle -De la Lola was born. Our brand has a clear objective:
TO MAKE QUALITY FOOD AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE.
-De la Lola sells products from conventional, ecological and bio-sustainable agriculture. In this adventure we are accompanied by both childhood friends and farmers who want to continue dedicating their lives to the land.
Will you join us too?

¿Why
- De la Lola?
My grandmothers Dolores Dalmases and Dolores Armengol had two things in common, the first is the name and the second is that they were two women who were born in a time that marked and limited them deeply.
Dolores Dalmases was an extremely intelligent woman who got trapped in the poverty of the rural world in the 20s, 30s, 40s...
Dolores Armengol was left alone as a result of the Civil War and in the midst of many hardships and misery she raised her two children.
The name - De la Lola is a tribute
The name - De la Lola is a tribute to all the men and women who could become much more but were prevented from doing so by their environment.
Our challenge is to beat the environment so that it is not the one that limits us, but that the limit is where our illusions end.
